About Soulard Special Business District

Approved by voters as a “special taxing district” in 1994, the primary purpose of the Soulard Special Business District is to provide enhanced security inside the district boundaries. This includes private security patrols (off-duty City of St. Louis Police officers), security products to residents (e.g., car clubs, energy-efficient lightbulbs, etc.), crime/safety education and other safety-related services to residents living within the boundaries of the SSBD.

Soulard Special Business District Board

An important component of the Soulard Special Business District is the seven person board.  Each board member serves a four-year term and district guidelines require that the board be composed of four property owners, one property renter, one business/property owner and one business owner/property renter.

We are partnering w/@DEASTLOUISDiv for a Drug Take Back event on 4/28/18 from 10am-2pm. This event allows individuals to properly dispose of any extra or expired prescription medication. Collection sites will be @ each area station: 3157 Sublette, 919 N. Jefferson, & 4014 Union.

Yesterday, prosecutors in the Circuit Attorney’s Office met with members of the Attorney General’s team. The AG’s team provided information they have gathered to us, and we are reviewing the evidence. We can’t discuss any specifics at this time, as the investigation is ongoing.

Thanks to a brave and courageous witness, the murderer of 30 y/o Brandon Ellington was sent to prison for life today. Brandon was shot & killed on a sunny afternoon in March 2016. The cooperation of witnesses and victims is essential to a fair and just criminal justice system.

Today, 4 people were charged w/ 1st Degree Murder of 16 y/o James Scales while he was waiting at the bus stop, September 2017. A team of CAO prosecutors lead the investigation w/ police. A top priority for @StLouisCityCA is reducing violent crime thru stronger investigations.
