Soulard Special Business District Seeking Commissioner

The Soulard Special Business District is seeking a commercial property renter to join its Board of Commissioners.  Board members are initially screened by the Board of Commissioners and approved by the Mayor’s office. Prior to consideration, the Application Petition and Application Parts B & C must be completed and forwarded to the Board of Commissioners.

About Soulard Special Business District

Approved by voters as a “special taxing district” in 1994, the primary purpose of the Soulard Special Business District is to provide enhanced security inside the district boundaries. This includes private security patrols (off-duty City of St. Louis Police officers), security products to residents (e.g., car clubs, energy-efficient lightbulbs, etc.), crime/safety education and other safety-related services to residents living within the boundaries of the SSBD.

Soulard Special Business District Board

An important component of the Soulard Special Business District is the seven person board.  Each board member serves a four-year term and district guidelines require that the board be composed of four property owners, one property renter, one business/property owner and one business owner/property renter.

Last week #SLMPD officers participated in a 5-day #IPMBA Basic Police Cyclist class. Their training included a strenuous 16-mile ride through St. Louis as well as a ride down the @gatewayarch steps! #STL

#SLMPD 5th District Officers seized these suspected narcotics after attempting to stop a 39-year-old male in the Hamilton Heights Neighborhood. The male fled and was taken into custody after a brief foot pursuit. #STL

This afternoon District 6 held a #CommunityRollCall in the O’Fallon Neighborhood.

PO Nelson & long time community leader Linda Primer received Awards of Excellence for their work in North #STL. Alderman Brandon Bosley also attended to provide encouraging words to the officers.
