About Soulard Special Business District

Approved by voters as a “special taxing district” in 1994, the primary purpose of the Soulard Special Business District is to provide enhanced security inside the district boundaries. This includes private security patrols (off-duty City of St. Louis Police officers), security products to residents (e.g., car clubs, energy-efficient lightbulbs, etc.), crime/safety education and other safety-related services to residents living within the boundaries of the SSBD.

Soulard Special Business District Board

An important component of the Soulard Special Business District is the seven person board.  Each board member serves a four-year term and district guidelines require that the board be composed of four property owners, one property renter, one business/property owner and one business owner/property renter.

Standing ovation for Kim Gardner. We have to stop the school to prison pipeline. Public health attack to address trauma. We want to expand school program. Need safe havens for students who are homeless, hungry. We fail to have as many social workers in our schools as police.
