About Soulard Special Business District

Approved by voters as a “special taxing district” in 1994, the primary purpose of the Soulard Special Business District is to provide enhanced security inside the district boundaries. This includes private security patrols (off-duty City of St. Louis Police officers), security products to residents (e.g., car clubs, energy-efficient lightbulbs, etc.), crime/safety education and other safety-related services to residents living within the boundaries of the SSBD.

An important component of the Soulard Special Business District is the seven person board.  Each board member serves a four-year term and district guidelines require that the board be composed of four property owners, one property renter, one business/property owner and one business owner/property renter.

Yesterday, officers arrested Kyle Johnson-Clark after the incident in the 3900 block of Utah. Today, the @stlcao issued 2 counts of Assault 1st LEO, 2 counts of Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, 2 counts of Shooting at a Motor Vehicle, & 4 counts of Armed Criminal Action. No bond

This morning @ChiefJohnHayden, @LydaKrewson, Public Safety Director Jimmie Edwards, and many others participated in the #Code73 walk. The walk is in support of Sgt. Charles Lowe who was shot while working in the Central West End on July 14, 2015.
