The Soulard Special Business District (SBD) held its annual Neighborhood Safety Forum on Monday, May 10. The meeting took place via zoom webinar and featured presentations by SBD Board members, SLMPD Third District Chief Joseph Morici, Major Ryan Cousins and Sergeant Tom Kitchell on behalf of The City’s Finest, and Andrea Maddox-Dallas from Soulard Restoration Group’s Safety Committee.

Approved by voters as a “special taxing district” in 1994, the primary purpose of the Soulard Special Business District is to provide enhanced security inside the district boundaries. This includes private security patrols (off-duty City of St. Louis Police officers), security products to residents (e.g., car clubs, energy-efficient lightbulbs, etc.), crime/safety education and other safety-related services to residents living within the boundaries of the SSBD.

An important component of the Soulard Special Business District is the seven person board. Each board member serves a four-year term and district guidelines require that the board be composed of four property owners, one property renter, one business/property owner and one business owner/property renter.
#SLMPD, @stlcountypd & the FBI conducted a search warrant this morning in the Patch neighborhood relative to investigations into carjackings, vehicle thefts & vehicle larcenies. These weapons, suspected narcotics, & stolen property was recovered. 3 people were taken into custody.
