Register for the May 10 Neighborhood Forum
The SSBD is planning its annual neighborhood security forum on Monday, May 10, 2021 at 6:30pm.
Please register here (you will receive the webinar link via email):
The forum will take place via Zoom Webinar. As part of our community outreach effort, the Soulard Special Business District conducts security forums in order to update residents of the District about activities (past and future), budgets, tax rate changes, crime statistics and other news and special programs in which the District is involved. Guest speakers include law enforcement, city leaders, and board commissioners. Forums also serve as a helpful tool for residents to gain knowledge on steps they can take to prevent crime.
About Soulard Special Business District
Approved by voters as a “special taxing district” in 1994, the primary purpose of the Soulard Special Business District is to provide enhanced security inside the district boundaries. This includes private security patrols (off-duty City of St. Louis Police officers), security products to residents (e.g., car clubs, energy-efficient lightbulbs, etc.), crime/safety education and other safety-related services to residents living within the boundaries of the SSBD.
Soulard Special Business District Board
An important component of the Soulard Special Business District is the seven person board. Each board member serves a four-year term and district guidelines require that the board be composed of four property owners, one property renter, one business/property owner and one business owner/property renter.
