About Soulard Special Business District

Approved by voters as a “special taxing district” in 1994, the primary purpose of the Soulard Special Business District is to provide enhanced security inside the district boundaries. This includes private security patrols (off-duty City of St. Louis Police officers), security products to residents (e.g., car clubs, energy-efficient lightbulbs, etc.), crime/safety education and other safety-related services to residents living within the boundaries of the SSBD.

An important component of the Soulard Special Business District is the seven person board.  Each board member serves a four-year term and district guidelines require that the board be composed of four property owners, one property renter, one business/property owner and one business owner/property renter.

Yesterday #SLMPD officers responded to a traffic accident in the 1600 block of N. Kingshighway and recovered various packages of suspected narcotics, a scale, loaded firearm, and a large amount of money. A 37-year old male was taken into custody.
